no one should be outside today

loading up my gear
i put my sneakers on
ready set it's time to go
i gather with the crew
a chat, a coffee break
then we hit the road and tune it up
i should have said goodbye
but there's no time, so hey
don't worry I'll be back a week from now
the traffic pass me by
and we sing a song out loud
then we get there
little later
we crack a laugh, a beer and check the sound
people calling
want the guest list
we set it up and have another drink
sold out or empty
you know, see, i don't care
cause i dig music, dig the stage
it's who i am
i pick up my guitar
the bass is in my chest
the drummer count it on a solid beat
i strike a chord, in tune
i hear some clapping hands
i feel the spotlight burning in my face
we do a decent gig out in this groovy place
the crowd is begging us for more
when we pack and leave

met a blogger 'bout a week ago
told me something about boutiques, trendy bags and new shoes
then she told me where to party
like all her super-duper friends
like i care, i really don't
(but) she went on to stuff like daddy's firm
her boyfriend's new car
perfect body, classy outfit
intellectually like five years old
in her blog she tells her weekend plans
where she had a drink and who was there
unique visitors will peak she hear
depending on what kind of clothes she wear
hectic busy so much going on
(she said) in my business course i have to be in class
twice a week!
have to cut back on my stylish
outfit of the day again
well at least she manage junk-yard sales
and a quick trip to barcelona, thursday-sunday
now, hey, it was awesome, now i have to
tell everyone how great it was
then when friday comes i see her face
talking loud and looking 'round and 'round
guess she wants an admiring look
